The Project Management Survey, December 2004

 

 
 
 

During December 2004 and January 2005, 274 people completed all or part of our first Project Management survey.  The respondents were all subscribers to the monthly Project Learning newsletter.  Thank you to those people who took part.  We have summarised the key findings, which you can see immediately below.  Just click on the Details tab for the complete results of the survey.

 
 
 

Key findings

  • 47% of people had between 5 and 20 years experience in project management. (Q1)

  • 25% of respondents spent between half and three quarters of their working day involved in project management. (Q2)

  • 67% of respondents used either Microsoft Project 2000, 2002 or 2003 Standard. (Q3)

  • 83% of people believed that current project management tools helped them. (Q4)

  • Less people had been trained on project management software than on project management theory.  (Q5 and Q7)

  • Classroom based training was the most common form of both theory and software training. (Q6 and Q8)
