To help you really understand how Microsoft Project works, concise references provide detailed explanations; with as much information as you should ever require.  You can access reference mode directly, or for a background to a lesson, just follow links into any one of its related reference pages.

The image to the right shows Reference D1.4.  This particular reference provides additional explanations about how Cost Resources can be used to manage expenditure within Microsoft Project.

Within Project Mentor you will find a comprehensive terminology listing.  Comprising of almost 600 definitions, each of which are themselves interlinked, the terminology page provides a detailed glossary of keywords and their meanings.  Context-sensitive terminology links are also found throughout the lesson and reference pages so that you can immediately find out what you need to know.

The image to the right shows the Terminology Index.  In this case, terminology definitions have been accessed by clicking on a context-sensitive keyword from within Reference C2.1.  Related keyword definitions can be found by clicking on keyword links.  Returning to the reference topic D1.4 is achieved by clicking on the R button on the title bar.

Using the Terminology Index as an invaluable reference

Whenever you need to know how to do something or you can’t remember exactly how a particular Microsoft Project function or process works, just use the Terminology Index.  Accessed by a simple menu command, keywords are listed in alphabetical sequence.  Simply choose a particular keyword, then just follow links to related primers, references or lessons , remembering that you can switch to and from Microsoft Project at any time, with Project Mentor taking you back to exactly where you were.

The image to the right shows the Terminology Index within Project Mentor.  A click on a keyword hyperlink opens up a lesson, reference or primer that teaches skills or provides background knowledge related to the chosen keyword.
