Welcome to the
third newsletter of 2008. From the feedback we've received from

received. We look to continue this revised theme with both our newsletters and
correspondence. As always, we welcome any suggestions you may have

Technical Tips
and Tricks - Task Structures |
|

|
This
interactive lesson explains in detail how the
structure
and sequence of project tasks can be reviewed effectively.
Although
you may have plenty of experience in looking at tasks and schedules, do take a
look at the audio-video walkthroughs, step-by-step instructions, and detailed
keywords as they provide lots of useful new techniques to learn or plenty of
ways to do more with less effort. Just go to:
Project Learning Tips & Tricks
Taken
from our critically-acclaimed
Project Mentor
learning system, this newsletter's interactive lesson continues on from task
definition and scheduling as discussed in last newsletter's tips and tricks.
Our new
interactive lesson format for tips and tricks appears to be a firm favourite
with newsletter subscribers, according to the stacks of feedback that we've
received. |

Project Mentor News |
|
Most people who but Project
Mentor from us like to 'try before they buy'. The ratio of evaluation kit
downloads to system purchases confirms this to us. To help prospective
users get a better look and feel of what Project Mentor can do for them, we've
updated:
Both of these resources give a
much better user experience and demonstrate more effectively how Project Mentor
works in a 'real life' Microsoft Project environment. If you haven't yet
looked at evaluating what Project Mentor can do for you, why not click on the
above links and see for yourself.
If you've tried to purchase
Project Mentor from us recently, you may have noticed that Credit Card logos
temporarily disappeared from our payments pages. The reason for this is
that one of our online merchants, WorldPay, changed their merchant system
without telling us. We hope that no-one was dissuaded from making a
Project Mentor purchase during this period and we can confirm that Credit Card
logos are back on prominent display.
Over the weekend of the 21st
and 22nd June,
we will be migrating the Personal Learning Plan (PLP) database for Project
Mentor onto a new server. This will mean better access for all Project
Mentor users when they use their PLP. We will aim to keep any distraction
to a minimum during the transfer period, but if you do experience any service
disruption during that weekend, please do bear with us. |

Sales partner for the United Kingdom |
|
 |
Leading
enterprise project management (EPM) consultancy, Program Framework,
www.programframework.com, is partnering Project Learning as the exclusive
distributor of Project Mentor in the UK. |
|
|
“We are delighted,” said Paul Major, managing
director of Program Framework, a Microsoft EPM partner that delivers a whole
solution to its wide range of clients for successful delivery of strategic
initiatives.
“Microsoft Project is widely used across all
sectors of British business and industry and Project Mentor is a wonderful
add-on.
There is huge interest in this computer based
training as organisations recognise that more effective and efficient project
management is crucial in today’s competitive, global marketplace
People can really appreciate the benefits of having
a cost-effective, comprehensive and authoritative Microsoft Project tutor on
their desktop that enables them to learn at their own pace, to click immediately
to what they need to know and with videos to show them how to do it.
Add in the self assessment tool that shows you how
you are doing and where you need to brush up your skills, and you have a
powerful package that beats traditional classroom training at every level!” |

Ask a Microsoft Project Expert |
|
 |
If the answer to either of the
above questions is Yes, then a new service from Project Learning may be just
what you are looking for.
On a regular basis, we receive
Microsoft Project-related questions from both regular newsletter subscribers and also
from
complete strangers. Up to now, we've attempted to answer these questions,
but we've not looked at sharing the answers that we've given. Our new 'Ask
the Expert' service is set to change all that, and we're looking for your help.
Just click on the link below,
and you'll be taken to a form on our website. Just complete the form and
ask your Microsoft Project question (or questions). If you have example
data, even better. We'll then look to answer you as quickly (and fully) as
we can, posting our answer for other newsletter subscribers to share. Just
click on this link:
