Dear Project Manager,

Volume 6, number 2

Welcome to the second newsletter of 2008.  From the feedback we've received from newsletter subscribers around the world, our 'new look' has been very well received.  We look to continue this revised theme with both our newsletters and correspondence.  As always, we welcome any suggestions you may have regarding content as well as look and feel.

In our next newsletter, we'll be starting a new feature: "Ask the expert".  Over the last couple of years, we've received questions related to using Microsoft Project from users all around the world.  We've endeavoured to answer these questions directly, often attaching sample MS Project plans to illustrate ideas or get key concepts across.  We'd like to share this knowledge with all our newsletter subscribers, so please do watch this space.

Sincerely

Andy Jessop

Technical Tips and Tricks - Detailed Task Definitions

Microsoft Project tips and tricks - April 2008 - To view as a web page please go to: http://www.projectlearning.net/newsletters/pl_e_newsletter_6_2.htm

Many newsletter subscribers have told us that they like the new interactive lesson format for tips and tricks, so we're keeping with this revised look.  This new format provides audio-video walkthroughs, step-by-step instructions, together with detailed keyword definitions to help you get to grips with a particular piece of Microsoft Project functionality.  If you are short of time, you can now just watch and listen to the audio/video walkthroughs that show you how to use Microsoft Project better.

Taken from our critically-acclaimed Project Mentor learning system, this newsletter's interactive lesson continues on from task outline creation as discussed in the last newsletter.  This interactive lesson explains in detail how tasks are defined and scheduled within Microsoft Project.

Although you may have plenty of experience in defining and scheduling project tasks, do take a look at the lesson as there may be lots of useful new techniques to learn or plenty of ways to do more with less effort.  Just go to:
