Technical Tips and Tricks

Microsoft Project tips and tricks - Feb 2008 - To view as a web page please go to: http://www.projectlearning.net/newsletters/pl_e_newsletter_6_1.htm

Tips and tricks this month have a much more interactive look and feel to them.  Many newsletter subscribers asked if we could present the information in a web page format, as opposed to a PDF document.  This we've done - and we've gone a step further too.  These new tips and tricks are in the form of an interactive lesson , with step-by-step instructions, backed up by detailed keyword definitions.  We hope that you like them.

This newsletter's interactive lesson concentrates on best-practices for creating a task outline within Microsoft Project, and comes straight from our critically-acclaimed Project Mentor learning system.  Although you may have plenty of experience in creating outlines, do take a look at the lesson as there may be lots of useful new techniques to learn or plenty of ways to do more with less effort.  Just go to:

Project Mentor version 2.12 now available

Over the past few months, our development team has been industriously working on an update to our Project Mentor Learning system.  We're delighted to announce that this is now available as a no-cost update for existing Project Mentor 2.x users.  Amongst many small improvements, the two key additions made are:
  • Improved workflow - richer information and guidance on how to get the most from using the various module, lesson and reference modes within Project Mentor.

  • Additional learning content and a revision guide for the Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist 70-632 qualification.  If you are looking to attain this valuable Microsoft certification, you can be confident that Project Mentor can provide all the technical content and learning guidance that you'll need.
