Project Learning Newsletter

www.projectlearning.net

Volume 5, No.2

Dear Andy,

Welcome to the second Project Learning newsletter of 2007.  Normally there wouldn't be a gap of almost five months between newsletters, but we've been extremely busy over the past few months with product and website development, together with a significant office relocation.  For the remainder of 2007 we aim to have lots more newsletter-based information for you.  If there's anything that you feel we should add to our newsletters, please feel free to email me at the email address below.

In this newsletter, we've focused fairly-and-squarely on the Microsoft Project user.  If you're one of the several million people who use the tool (or are contemplating purchasing it for the first time), you'll doubtless be aware that Microsoft released the 2007 Office Project version earlier this year.  To that end, we now have updates to our Project Mentor distance learning learning system, together with a significant rewrite to the Knowledge Base section of our website.

I hope that you like what we've accomplished and that you'll continue to find our newsletters interesting and helpful.

Sincerely,

Andy Jessop
CEO and Founder

Project Mentor for Microsoft Office Project 2007

We're delighted to announce that, after several months of development effort, the latest version of Project Mentor (our award-winning Microsoft Project distance learning system) now supports the most up-to-date version of Microsoft Office Project 2007.  If you've just purchased Project 2007 for the first time, or you are upgrading from a previous version of Project, you'll find that Project Mentor 2.1 has something for you.  Just follow these links:

Project Mentor 2.1 update now available for download

If you are an existing Project Mentor 2.0x user, an update to version 2.1 is now available from our website as a no-cost download.  In this latest version, we've added and improved on Project Mentor's already extensive functionality.  Furthermore, we've added support for the new features found in Microsoft Office Project 2007.  To help people who've upgraded to Project 2007 from previous versions, we've even added a new features page, which provides a ready reference and links to help learn about the new functionality available.

To find out more about the improvements we've made to Project Mentor 2.1 over previous Project Mentor versions, just follow this link:

Microsoft Project Knowledge Base

If you're new to Microsoft Project, or you've just upgraded to the latest Office Project 2007 version, you'll doubtless be aware that Microsoft has added a great deal of new (and very useful) functionality.  The downside of this is that there are as many opportunities to use Microsoft Project 2007 incorrectly as there are opportunities for getting the most from the tool.  This is where our Knowledge Base should become invaluable.

Within our Knowledge Base, we've carefully sifted through the mass of Microsoft Project-related information available on the web; from official information on microsoft.com, msdn and technet, through to interesting blogs from Microsoft Project experts all around the world.

We've completely rewritten the Knowledge Base section of our website, expanding its content almost fourfold.  To help you navigate the wealth of content that is available, we've broken down the knowledge base into five sections, dependant upon your information needs:

Homepage, Webcasts and blogs http://www.projectlearning.net/microsoft_project_knowledge_base.htm

Summary information plus business and commercial http://www.projectlearning.net/microsoft_project_knowledge_base_biz.htm

Deployment info and help http://www.projectlearning.net/microsoft_project_knowledge_base_deploy.htm

Information for the developer http://www.projectlearning.net/microsoft_project_knowledge_base_developer.htm

Miscellaneous and general info http://www.projectlearning.net/microsoft_project_knowledge_base_general.htm

We hope that you'll find the selection of content in the Knowledge Base to be invaluable in helping you get more from using Microsoft project.  If you have any specific Microsoft Project questions that you can't find answers to within the Knowledge Base, do feel free to drop an email to our key technical expert: andyj@projectlearning.net
