Project Learning Newsletter

www.projectlearning.net

Volume 5, No.1

Dear Andy,

Welcome to the first Project Learning newsletter of 2007.  We'd like to wish all our customers and newsletter subscribers a (rather belated) Happy new Year.

2007 is looking to be a very exciting year for us.  The eagerly-awaited Microsoft Project 2007 will be on general release by the time you read this newsletter.  Early indications show that this new version will be very well received by individual project managers and corporate EPM users alike.  We've also got some very exciting plans for later in 2007 that will benefit all our customers worldwide.  We'll let you know about these plans in detail within our next newsletter.

We'd also like to say a big thank-you to the people who emailed us in encouragement of our policy of making charitable donations in lieu of sending Season's Greetings cards.  Our donations are now with their respective good causes and, in their own small part, helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

Sincerely,

Andy Jessop

Microsoft EPM Case Study

During 2006, Project Learning worked in partnership with Kingspan Insulation Ltd to implement and deploy a Microsoft Project EPM solution.  By working in partnership with our clients, a practical and workable EPM solution was created in a very cost-effective manner.  To find out more, and read the case study in full, just follow the link below:

Microsoft Project Usage Survey

In the previous survey of Microsoft Project users we had a fantastic response from almost 1,000 people, all around the globe.

For our 2006/2007 survey, we're hoping for just as positive a response.  In this survey, we’d like to find out more about which versions of Microsoft Project people use and also people's attitudes to learning how to use Microsoft Project properly.

If you haven't responded to our survey yet, we'd really appreciate your comments.  We've extended the survey close date to February 15th 2007.

As a thank you for completing our survey, all respondents will receive a copy of our Project Mentor Lite software with our compliments.  In addition, all completed surveys will be entered into a draw to win one of five prizes - a Project Mentor Single User system (worth £195 / $300).

To access this 8-question survey, (which should take just 5 minutes of your time) simply follow this link:

Results of the survey will be posted onto our web site later in Q1, 2007.

Tips and Tricks

This newsletter's tips and tricks again come from our collaboration with Microsoft.  During last year we provided two articles that were published on the Microsoft Office At Work Newsletter.  For January 2007, we've provided yet another article.  Following on from previous topics explaining how to get started with using Microsoft Project and how to effectively plan project tasks, this article is entitled: "Best practice tips for working with critical paths."  Just click below to see the article on our website:
