Volume 4, No.5

Dear Andy,

Welcome to the fifth and final Project Learning newsletter of 2006.  We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and newsletter subscribers who have supported us over the last year and to wish you all a peaceful and prosperous 2007.

We've got some exciting plans for 2007, so watch this space!

Sincerely,

Andy Jessop

Season's Greetings

Thousands of companies around the world will currently be sending millions of greetings cards to celebrate the festive season.  At Project Learning, we decided several years ago to not follow this practice.  Instead we'll be donating the money we would have normally spent on cards and postage to the following worthwhile causes:

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)   http://www.unicef.org/

The Multiple Sclerosis Society   http://www.mssociety.org.uk/

I hope you'll agree with us that the money we would have spent can be spent much more productively by helping those less fortunate than ourselves.

Microsoft Project Usage Survey

In last year's survey of Microsoft Project users we had a fantastic response from almost 1,000 people, all around the globe.  You can review the survey's findings by following this link:

http://www.projectlearning.net/survey_home.htm

For our 2006 survey, we're hoping for just as positive a response.  In this survey, we’d like to find out more about which versions of Microsoft Project people use and also people's attitudes to learning how to use Microsoft Project properly.

The survey will be active until January 15th 2007.  To thank you for completing our survey, all respondents will receive a copy of our Project Mentor Lite software with our compliments.  In addition, all completed surveys will be entered into a draw to win one of five prizes - a Project Mentor Single User system (worth £195 / $300).

To access this 8-question survey, (which should take just 5 minutes of your time) simply follow this link:

Results of the survey will be posted onto our web site early in 2007.

Tips and Tricks

This newsletter's tips and tricks takes on a different format than normal.  Earlier this year, Microsoft UK asked us to provide content for the UK At Work newsletter.  As this article was very well received, last month, they asked us to provide another article.  The theme of this month's article is "How do I link tasks using Microsoft Project to help keep my project on target?"  Just click below to see the article on our website:

http://www.projectlearning.net/newsletters_tipstricks.htm

And the same article via the Microsoft website:

Over the next few months, we're looking to provide even more articles for Microsoft.  As and when these are published, we'll let you know.

To read Andy's article "Getting started with Microsoft Project - 4 best practice tips", published in the April 2006 Microsoft At Work Newsletter, just follow this link:
