Dear Andy,
Welcome to the seventh Project Learning newsletter of 2005.
Now that most people have returned from their summer break,
we're exceedingly busy with training course delivery. As
such, we're now scheduling public Microsoft Project training
courses in the centre of London. Just see below to find
out more.
Another pleasing trend is that many people are getting themselves
trained on Microsoft Project EPM - the client/server version of
Microsoft Project 2003.
If you don't know much about EPM, take a look at the 'Microsoft'
section of our website (you can use the link near the base of
this newsletter) and find out what's available and what you
should consider to make EPM work for you. Also, do take
the opportunity to download a recently-published EPM white paper
that explains the critical success factors behind successful EPM
implementations.
With
this month's tips and tricks, we're introducing the fundamental
concepts of Earned Value Analysis (or EVA). If you wanted to
know more about EVA (and what it can do for you), why not review the tips and tricks for yourself?
Regrettably, we're having to close the projectknowledge.net
website. This is due to misuse from a number of users.
Below you can see what we're doing for its replacement.
Finally, if you are based in the UK, we've added an announcement
of a forthcoming Project Management trade show.
Sincerely,
Andy Jessop
CEO and Founder

EPM White Paper |
|
Recently, one of our partners; Paul Major of Management
Framework has written an influential white paper on the
importance of Enterprise Project Management (EPM), and the key
business principles for getting EPM right.
This white paper explains why it is important to understand and
apply a conceptual framework for managing projects and describes
the principles of managing large or small projects in dynamic
business settings where the principles are put into action to
create and execute a realistic plan. If applied properly,
these principles can significantly improve the chance of EPM
success.

download the whitepaper, just go

Regrettably, due to misuse of
the site by a number of users, the Project
Knowledge site will close as of October 2005.
The
good news is that we're committed to providing the same (if not
better) resources from within the main projectlearning.net site.
This content can be found from the 'Microsoft' menu, or simply
