Welcome to the new-look Project Learning newsletter.  We all hope that you like the new format and will continue to find value within it.  To start this newsletter, I'd like to pose a couple of questions; did you know?

  • That Project Companion version 3 has more than TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND users worldwide.
  • That Project Companion's terminology definitions are licensed to Microsoft Corporation as part of their TechNet-based Project Resource Kit.
  • And that a NEW VERSION FOUR is now available as a free download!

NEW! Project Companion 4.0

We're delighted to announce the availability of Project Companion 4.0.  As before, we don't charge a penny for Companion - it is still a FREE download.  Within version 4, you'll find additional content and improved functionality; in line with its parent product Project Mentor.

In addition, you may have received security warnings if you have used version Companion 3.x within Microsoft Windows XP service pack 2.  This is because XPSP2 checks for the use of program scripts - as found within virtually any software that uses Internet Explorer.  Project Companion 4.0 has been re-scripted so you'll receive no security warnings.  Rest assured that the scripts within Companion 3.x will cause no harm to your computer.

The key reasons to upgrade are:

  • Reference content increased by 20%
  • Terminology definitions also increased by 20%
  • Easier to use and a greatly-improved look and feel.
  • Enhanced integration with the Windows XPSP2 security regime.

Forthcoming Webinars

Although many people find that the website pages describing our Project Mentor system provide a wealth of information about the system, we've received lots of requests for software demonstrations.  To provide these demonstrations in-company would require us to have literally dozens of demonstrators, all around the world.  As this would both be impractical and also push up the price of Project Mentor, we're looking to offer web-based demonstrations on a regular basis, starting soon.

So we can gauge specific interests and requirements, could people interested in logging in to a webinar, please email the address below, stating preferred days and times, together with suggested demonstration content:

In the meantime, if you want to view an audio/video demo of Project Mentor in action or download an evaluation kit, just go to:

FTP Downloads of Project Mentor

Due to Project Mentor containing over FIVE AND A HALF hours of audio/video walkthrough movies, until now we've only been able to ship it to users on CD.  For some people, this can mean several days between order placement and order fulfilment.

As of February 21st 2005, all purchasers of Project Mentor will have the option to download the software from our secure FTP server in addition to receiving a CD through the mail.  This provides a safe and secure way to download the 202MB of code that makes up Project Mentor.  Please bear in mind that if you choose this option, 202MB can take a while to download.
